SHIPPING

CANADA POST & USPS REGULAR MAIL

During these uncertain times with Covid 19, we need to exercise patience when we choose to ship products using regular post. Regular Post in better times can typically take 5-10 business days but these days we are seeing up to 21 business days to the USA and Eastern Canada. Sometimes longer!  This is out of our control. There are options to ship Express Post (3-5 Business days) with tracking at check out. If your order is over 100.00 and you do not choose Express, we will ship Expedited with tracking. Expedited is approximately 7-10 days transit.

Please note: Production time delays are posted daily. Production delay are the days we need as a factory to make the product pre-shipping.

Production and shipping times are separate.

 Thank you for your understanding.

How many times a day do you touch your face?

One study published by the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Hygiene recorded 10 subjects as they did office-style work for three hours in a room by themselves. On average, they touched their faces 15.7 times per hour. A similar study of 26 students in South Wales showed they averaged 23 touches per hour, with almost half of those involving contact between the hand and mucous from the nose, eyes and mouth.

slightly larger study of 250 individuals in public places in the United States and Brazil came with a lower average of 3.6 times per hour, perhaps because people are less likely to touch their faces in public. But the same study showed they touched common objects or surfaces 3.3 times per hour

In the eerily prescient movie “Contagion,” a doctor played by Kate Winslet laments, “The average person touches their face 2,000 to 3,000 times a day, 3-5 times a minute.” There’s no footnote as to where the screenwriter got that particular statistic, but it certainly resonates with many people who admit they touch their faces pretty much all of the time.

Needless to say, most of us don’t wash our hands three times an hour (let alone 23 times an hour). So what does this mean for our health and safety.

Most people touch their faces without even thinking about it

Most experts agree that washing your hands thoroughly, with soap for at least 20 seconds, as often as possible is the single best step you can take toward prevention. But, now is a good time to be aware of how often you touch your face with your hands, because your hands are only clean until the next surface you touch.

PLEASE

 READ CAREFULLY

Fabric masks are not as effective as surgical masks — in the same way that surgical masks are not as effective as the N95 (mask) — but as supplies of surgical and N95 masks are almost non-existent to the public IN NORTH AMERICA, cloth masks may be our only option to cover up.

In a time of crisis, Watuko masks may provide a physical barrier against you transferring germs from your hand to your face. Most of us touch our faces several times every hour, mindlessly, and this is often how we catch viral illnesses. Despite never being especially close to anyone sick, we self-infect by rubbing our nose or eyes after touching a mucus-misted surface. The physical barrier of an elective face mask could help protect us from ourselves, by minimizing inadvertent face touching.
Essentially, no masks are perfect, and their value always depends on the context in which they’re used and cared for.

Our recommendations are a guide only.  Even with the use of a mask, best practices are to maintain the 2-meter rule, wash your hands on a regular basis with soap and water and to Isolate or avoid ALL public places. In general, masks may or may not help to control viruses but we can make every effort to protect ourselves. In China, Italy and other countries around the world today masks are worn by everyone, every day, everywhere.

CAUTION

How to fit, use and care for a non-disposable DOUBLE layer face mask

  • 1. WASH BEFORE WEAR: Before putting on a Watuko face mask to adjust the fit, ensure it has been washed and dried. Some shrinkage will occur.

  •  2. WITH CLEAN HANDS ADJUST THE BANDS FOR A SNUG BUT COMFORTABLE FIT. (Bands are adjusted by toggles). "NEW DESIGN"

  • Cover mouth and nose with mask and make sure there are no gaps between your face and the mask. If the fit is too tight or too loose repeat the fit-step again.

  • Avoid touching the mask at all times while using it; if you do, clean your hands with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water.

  • To remove the mask: remove it from behind your ears (do not touch the front of mask);

  • Wash mask by immersing immediately in the sink and hand wash with soap and warm-hot water. (Do not use bleach or alcohol) Rinse well and put in dryer or hang to dry in a warm sunny location.

  • Keep your CLEAN-DRY mask stored in a CLEAN sterile bag. Each set of 2 masks is sent to you in a sterile re-usable pouch, use this pouch to store clean, dry masks.  Never store exposed in a pocket of clothing.

  • Masks MUST ALWAYS be laundered between uses.

  • Any insert should be disposable between uses.

NEVER SHARE YOUR MASK WITH ANOTHER PERSON

AND REMEMBER TO ALWAYS WASH YOUR MASK BETWEEN USES

Headbands

Many customers have shared the idea of sewing buttons on a headband and looping the elastic around the button instead of your ears. The idea is to prevent sore ears from prolonged use of a mask. BRILLIANT IDEA! SO, for the next few months, with every Sport Headband and Bandeaux Headband purchase you will receive a FREE button kit (Buttons, thread and needle)
